Broken Phalange

This morning I woke up to a text from my mom saying that my dad thought that he had broken his finger in his sleep last night. She sent me this picture:

When I got off work this afternoon I gave my dad a call and he was leaving work early and was on the train headed home to go to the doctor! It turns out that he had broken his finger. It was so bad that they had to cut off his wedding ring!

Ouch!

The phalanges are the bones that make up your fingers, they are connected to the metacarpals , which are then connected to a bunch of little bones in the base of the hand. From there we have two bones, the radius (on your thumb side) and the ulna (on the pinky side). And those are the bones that make up the lower half of your arm!
