Christmas Break iPhone Pictures

my christmas break has been such a blast... it has been fun being home and not having to worry about much.. .that is except for grades. I have been in a PANIC for the last two weeks if I got the grades I needed to keep my acceptance into dental hygiene school. Today, I got good news.. I'm safe! Just TWO more classes to go at BYU. That is crazy.
Anyways, here are some fun pictures to look at taken off my iphone...

It's Been TOO long!!

Wow... it has been a while since I last posted. It hasn't helped that we didn't have internet in our apartment for the last two weeks. in addition to that there was last week of classes, and finals... and traveling home... so much. Anyways, here are some pics from my iphone... a little something something to look at. help give me inspiration for what to write about..

i made stuffed peppers for dinner one night. yum. so easy. sauteed mushrooms, onions, Italian stewed tomatoes, added in cooked quinoa and put into a hallowed out mushroom. cook till done.

Am I Racist?

It is well known that people don't always 'speak their minds', and it is suspected that people don't always 'know their minds'. Understanding such divergences is important to scientific psychology.

After I first took the implicit test, I was disappointed and slightly angry at the results. “Strong automatic preference for EUROPEAN AMERICAN compared to AFRICAN AMERICA”?! What does that even mean? I have never thought of myself as a racist, nor have I ever been prejudice toward the African American race. I was convinced that it was the order of which the questions appeared that cause me to score that way, so I took the test again.


When I took the test a second time, the positive words were with the African American pictures first. And yes, it was easier for me to affiliate the positive words with the European Americans than it was the African Americans. Why was that? Does that make me a bad person? In an article I read describing these implicit tests, it says that we can all be a bit subconsciously racist no matter how colorblind we claim to be.


“There are other things which a man is afraid to tell even to himself, and every decent man has a number of such things stored away in his mind”.

Moment of Nostalgia

I am going to be on campus late today so I knew I should drive so I wouldn't have to walk home in the dark. I parked up at the dorms, in my old spot by my old building.

As I was walking up freshman hill, my iPod shuffled strait to 'Photofinnish'-3oh3... followed by 'So Rich, So Pretty'- Mickey Avalon.......instantly I was thrown back to freshman year. This time of year, with the snow, and finals... it almost made me want to go get a subway sandwhich for lunch and then hit up Legend's for dinner.

I wish I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't haven taken econ the next semester, I wouldn't have taken math 119, my life could be so different.

Anyways... i just want to give sutherland aka Barnes a shout out... thanks girl for all the good times, and the great music. if i ever need a moment of nostalgia all i need to do is rock out with Mickey Avalon, 3oh!3, and Fixxers. Can u werk wit dat???

Thanksgiving

So much to blog about regarding these last few days. I went up to Idaho to spend time with family... my family is crazy. It was nice to get out of provo, change up the scene.

But there was big snow storm that was suppose to hit tuesday, they even cancelled school... but the storm never came. so we were able to go to idaho.

My cousin is AWESOME... he hooked me up with the SWEETEST bag even.. A Hermes Birkin Bag... to get one of these suckers you need to go on a waiting list for 8 months, and it'll set you back for around $8,000. I rock one. that's right ladies.... be JEALOUS

This post is a tribute to my mom. A classic tale where she has the total right to say 'I told you so'.

So anyways, growing up, in the winter, my mom has ALWAYS told my sister and I that we had to wear tights to church. No bare legs, not acceptable. For some strange reason, I just felt like tights weren't cool. I would sneak past my mom and it would be will when we were sitting in sacrament meeting when she would turn to me and make a comment about how tacky it was that I wasnt wearing tights and I would follow up by saying 'oh I was just too busy', or 'oh I forgot'.
Today was, what I would consider, the first real snowfall here in Provo. It snowed pretty much all night, and there isn't tons of snow on the ground at this time... but it was clearly still snowing this morning as we left for church.... ANYWAYS, my point here is that there were soooo many girls at church today without tights on! I mean, really?? didn't your mother teach you anything?? haha

I am so glad my mom made me and my sister wear tights to church. So much more classy, and it doesnt show how white my legs have gotten these past few Fall months.

Pinewood Derby

Tonight we had our ward Pinewood Derby competition. They put us into teams and assigned a team captain and gave that team captain a block of wood. I knew that my team captain wasn't going to do anything so I had my mom send out one of Nate's old cars. I should have come in at least 3rd place (not 4th) and it was super unfair that the car the took me out of the finals was just a stupid block of wood car that was WAY over the weight limit.... but am I bitter? no no, it's just a friendly competition (but I HATE cheaters)

Anyways, here are some of the super fun cars there were tonight:

Noah's Arc Car

 Oscar Mayer Car- believe it or not this car was really fast

 This car was one of my favorites because it had our school's logo lazered onto it

This car was pretty sweet because it actually had light up headlights 

This was Aaron's team car... it had three wheels. It never made it to the end of the track during its races lol.

This car was fun and had lots of sparkles... I don't remember how it did out there on the track though

The 'Bad to the Cone' Ice Cream Truck. SOO cute and SOO original
